Poetry

trip through every reservation.
your mouth, always a crooked smirk.
you must feel completely ruined
as they graze one finger,
tracing your palm,
turning your insides into crushed velvet.

you fall slowly
and wonder if the copper light of the stars
is from your lungs,
as you exhale their shimmering breath.

let the summer night melt
into one decadent moment.
a warm candle burning in your veins,
